Calling In ‘Black’

With every modern-day lynching of a black person by law enforcement, even though I don’t personally know the fallen soul, I enter a state of grieving.

That’s why this video from Evelyn From The Internets is so relevant: “Calling In Black”.

I can’t watch the Alton Sterling video. My soul can’t handle seeing the life of another black man viciously ripped from this earth. By now, I’m sure Fox News, CNN and other white supremacy-supporting media outlets have broadcast about the time an 8-year-old Alton took a piece of candy without asking, and therefore deserved to die.

How long will we fight before we are considered worthy of life by those who fear us? How many more hashtags will we create? How many more marches will we participate in?

At this point, I have no answers… but you better believe I’m not going to stop seeking until I do.

Sweet and docile,
Meek, humble, and kind
Beware the day
They change their mind
